Dr. Soskolne's most significant integration of ethics into any of his content areas was in the technologically-advancing field of biomarker studies of exposure, susceptibility and early transformations en route to clinical endpoints. This was made possible through his participation in the 12th Meeting of the Scientific Group on Methodologies for the Safety Evaluation of Chemicals (SGOMSEC) in Finland in 1996 on Susceptibility to Environmental Hazards. His contribution was published in Environmental Health Perspectives in 1997 (suppl.) entitled Ethical, social and legal issues surrounding studies of susceptible populations and individuals.
